  • Theoretical and observational investigation of planetary surfaces and their interactions with atmospheres and magnetospheres.
  • Use of spectrophotometry, radiometry, and spectroscopy in the determination of surface state and composition.
  • Geologic interpretation of planetary surfaces using two dimensional spectrophotometry and imaging techniques.
  • Optical instrument development. Spacecraft instrument and mission development in the international environment.
