Research Interests
  • The ability of life to remain viable in extreme environments. Specifically how individual organisms or communities can be used to help understand past and present climate on earth as well as the origin of life in the solar system.
  • The atmospheric chemistry of earth and other planets.
  • Instrumentation development for life detection

The Ponce Group Icon The Ponce Group
The Ponce Group is an interdisciplinary team composed of members from both the California Institute of Technology and the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory that integrates microbiology, chemistry, biophotonics and engineering principles.
