Peggy Park

Education
  • Master of Business Administration, University of Redlands (2006)
  • BS in Biochemistry, University of Maryland (1975)

Research Interests
  • High contrast imaging for direct detection of extrasolar planets
  • Key technology for wavefront sensing and control

Professional Experience

Current Roles

Peggy Park has focused on supporting Exoplanet Exploration Technology Coronagraph (ExEP-C) / High Contrast Imaging Testbed team and its Principal Investigator, Dr. John Trauger, to ensure the testbed has maximum chance of reaching its science and technology goals within allocated schedule and budget.

Peggy’s current focus is to make contribution to brining future medium-size exoplanet mission (~$800M in FY09$ including launch vehicle) to JPL by coordinating and managing at the junction of science, engineering and business. She serves as a Study Manager for ASMCS (Astrophysics Strategic Mission Concept Study) / ACCESS (Actively-Corrected Coronagraph for Exoplanet System Studies) to maximize the science and engineering development within available resources and enables the greatest flexibility for the scientists and engineers to achieve their tasks. She makes detailed plans to accomplish the team’s goals and identifies technical and programmatic problems preventing the completion of team’s tasks. She assists Dr. John Trauger, the PI for ACCESS, in determining scientific and technical goals within broad outlines provided by Exoplanet Exploration Program Office, Astrophysics and Heliophysics Formulation Office, and Astronomy and Physics Directorate.

Peggy supports JPL’s Center for Exoplanet Science and its Director, Dr. Wes Traub, to provide resources to researchers in the study of exoplanet science and to enhance JPL’s leadership in exoplanet science and technology.
