Curriculum Vitae:

Charlotte Emery
Postdoctoral Researcher

Charlotte is a post-doctorate in the Terrestrial Hydrology group at JPL just landing from Toulouse where she grew up. This is not the first time she comes in the US as she did her final Ms project on fire propagation data assimilation at the University of Maryland in 2013. Back in France, she graduated in Applied mathematics and modeling engineering and started her PhD in Hydrology, continental surfaces and interfaces at LEGOS (Labaratory of Geosciences Studies and Spatial Observations), still in Toulouse and defended it in early 2017. When not at work, she likes playing basketball and teaching it to young players along with hiking and traveling to foreign countries to discover other cultures.

Education
  • PhD in Hydrology, Continental surfaces and Interface, University of Toulouse, France (2017)
  • Engineering Degree in Applied mathematics and Modeling, National Institute of Applied Science in Toulouse, France (2013)

Research Interests
  • Hydrology
  • Data assimilation
  • Sensitivity Analysis, uncertainty quantification
  • Remote sensing

Professional Experience
  • Instructor for Matlab practical work at ICAM (private engineering school in Toulouse), 2014

Community Service
  • Tutor for high school and middle school students in mathematics
  • Trainer for basketball young players (girls from 9 to 16 years old) in local club
  • Head of delegation on basketball tournaments for the selections of best under-13 potential basketball players in the county
