Curriculum Vitae:

Adeline Gicquel Brodtke

Since 2007, my main research interests have been dedicated to small bodies of the Solar System (especially comets) that are known to contain pristine material of the protoplanetary disk. In my research career, so far, I have acquired an expertise in the development of numerical models and in the acquisition and analysis of infrared, visible and radio to sub-millimeter data. I have conducted observations from several single-dish antennas, and I have helped with the science planning and operation from the Rosetta mission. I believe that the combination of model and observation is necessary to support space mission by interpreting and comparing existing data.

  • PhD Astronomy & Astrophysics, Paris Observatory, France, 2011
  • Master of research in Astrophysics, Paris Diderot University, France, 2008

Research Interests
  • Origins of the Solar System
  • Composition and activity of the nucleus and the coma of comets (in the visible, infrared, millimeter, submillimeter, and radio)
  • Observations with single-dish telescopes

  • Analysis of image data from spacecraft and ground-based telescopes
  • Development of numerical models to study the coma of the comets
  • Science planning for the Rosetta mission

Professional Experience
  • Postdoctoral Researcher, Paris Observatory, France, 2012
  • Postdoctoral Researcher, NASA Goddard- Catholic University, USA, 2013-2015
  • Postdoctoral Researcher, Max Planck Institute MPS, Germany, 2015-2017
  • Postdoctoral Researcher, NASA JPL- Caltech, USA, 2017-Present
