Pang-Wei Liu

Pang-Wei is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Terrestrial Hydrology Group of the Science Division. He received the Ph.D. degree in agricultural engineering (with a minor in electrical engineering) from the University of Florida in 2013. Before joining JPL, he was a Postdoc Research Associate and then an Assistant Research Scientist in the Center for Remote Sensing, University for Florida. His research interests include active and passive microwave remote sensing modeling for soil moisture and agricultural crops under dynamic vegetation conditions, data assimilation with crop growth models, application of LiDAR for forest biomass, and GNSS-R remote sensing for terrestrial applications. His main research at JPL is to develop and implement the Land Information System (LIS) incorporating with satellite products to produce optimal land surface hydrologic states for the Western States Water Mission project.
