Dimitrios Stampoulis

Dimitrios Stampoulis received the B.S. in Agricultural Sciences, with a specialty in Plant Protection and Environment from the Agricultural University of Athens in Greece. His graduate studies began in Connecticut, USA, where he obtained the M.Sc. degree in Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Geographic Information Systems from the University of New Haven, in 2009. He continued his graduate studies at the University of Connecticut where, in 2014, he obtained the Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering, focusing on remote sensing techniques and applications in hydrology. Since March 2014, Dr. Stampoulis has been a Caltech postdoctoral fellow at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he works on the SERVIR East Africa Drought and Crop Productivity Assessment and Prediction project.

Research Interests

Conducting interdisciplinary eco-hydrological research focusing on understanding the linkages and interactions between the water dynamics and different ecosystem processes within various hydrologic regimes, with applications in ecology and agriculture.
