Biography

Elodie Gloesener is a postdoctoral fellow at JPL studying the stability and composition of clathrate hydrates under conditions relevant to the outer Solar System. Her research project aims to couple laboratory and modelling studies to better constrain cryovolcanic processes and methane outgassing on icy satellites, especially on Titan.

Education

  • Ph.D. in Planetary Sciences, UCLouvain, Belgium (2019).
  • M.S. in Space Sciences, University of Liège, Belgium (2012).
  • B.S. in Physics, University of Liège, Belgium (2010).

Professional Experience

  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow, JPL/Caltech (2021 – present).
  • Postdoctoral Researcher, UCLouvain (2019 – 2021).
  • Research Assistant, Royal Observatory of Belgium / UCLouvain (2016 – 2019).
  • FRIA Research Fellow, Royal Observatory of Belgium (2013 – 2016).

Research Interests

Mars, icy satellites, clathrate hydrates, subsurface-atmosphere exchanges.

Selected Awards

  • B.A.E.F. postdoctoral research fellowship (2020).
  • FRIA fellowship from F.R.S. – FNRS (2013).
