Research Interests

  • Ocean-atmosphere interaction: apply satellite based and other data to study air-sea interaction from synoptic to decadal time scale.
  • Hydrological cycle: estimate major components of atmospheric hydrological balance over global oceans from satellite observation.
  • Ocean acidification: develop statistical algorithms to retrieve partial pressure of carbon dioxide, pH and total alkalinity from spacebased observations over global ocean; characterize and understand ocean acidification; Link ocean carbon and water cycles through surface salinity.
