Thesis – Linear Instability of Synoptic Scale eddies in a Two-Layer Shallow Water Model

Research Interests

My current research interest is in understand the interaction between moist convection and large-scale circulation in the tropical atmosphere. My current project with Dr. Joao Teixeira and Professor Tapio Schneider aims to utilize large eddy simulations in order to improve the parameterization of deep convection in climate models.

Professional Experience

Turntable Laboratory experiments as part of a collaboration with (LEGI-Grenoble).

Teaching assistant at HUJI and IUI in the following courses: Introduction to Climate, Thermodynamics of the Atmosphere, Dynamical Meteorology and Physical Oceanography.

Postdoc researcher – Geosciences department of Tel Aviv university, studying the effect of the upper level flow and pressure field on the intensity of Tropical Cyclones.

Community Service

Parliamentary and government connections representative (lobbyist) for “Green Course” the Israel student environmental organization (2003-2005)
