Biography

Dennis is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and received his A.B. in Astrophysics and Physics from Harvard University in 2016. He received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University where his work focused on understanding the role of the magnetic field in the star formation process. During his Ph.D., he worked on both the development of the TolTEC imaging polarimeter for the 50m Large Millimeter Telescope (LMT) in Mexico as well as the analysis and study of far-infrared polarization data from the HAWC+ instrument on Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA).
