My research focuses on high-contrast imaging in the view of directly detecting and characterizing exoplanets. I am particularly interested in improving the performance of instruments for exoplanet science, taking profit of data analysis and of the detailed characterization of the instrumental limitations and calibration capabilities.
I enjoy participating to public outreach activities including: Portable Planetarium Visits at children's hospitals in LA, NASA Solar System Ambassador, Public Science Talks, Adopt-a-Physicist, Letters to a Pre-Scientist and Skype a Scientist Programs, JPL Open House, Science advising for educational videos.
When not working, you will likely find me in the backcountry, sleeping with Grizzly bears in Yellowstone, walking on the Mauna Loa Volcanoe or canoeing in the Ten Thousand islands in the Everglades.
