Biography

Federico Rabuffi is a JPL postdoctoral fellow in the Earth Surface and Interior Group. His research projects and activities focus on the use of remote sensing, particularly the use of spectroscopic imaging to retrieve geological and mineralogical maps, and thermal analysis as support to volcano monitoring using statistical time series analysis to detect thermal changes in volcanic activity. Federico holds a PhD in Earth Science (2023) working at INGV (Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia). Part of his PhD aimed to investigate the potential of hyperspectral data, in the optical spectral range to spectrally characterize the lithotypes outcropping in geothermal sites. He is also involved in the development and implementation of spatial databases and Web-GIS platforms aimed to the distribution of spectral library and data related to his research activities.
