Biography

I had the fortune to grow up primarily on the Oregon Coast where I got to witness coastal ocean phenomena over many years, which gave me an early appreciation for oceanography. When I’m not thinking about the ocean, I like to play harpsichord (badly) in my free time!

Education

  • B.S. in Physics, Vassar College (2015)
  • Ph.D. in Oceanography, UC San Diego – Scripps Institution of Oceanography (2023)

Research Interests

My dissertation examined diurnal and semidiurnal processes, primarily tides, in the California Current System from high-frequency radar observations of surface currents. More broadly, I am interested in tides and other “fast” processes and how they interact with slower processes in the ocean. I am also hoping to investigate the effects of these processes on coastal environments.
