Dr. Leblanc is an atmospheric scientist and is the Principal Investigator for the Lidar and Balloon Projects at JPL-Table Mountain Facility. His research interests are centered on lidar-based observations of the composition and dynamics of Earth's atmosphere. Most of his work has focused on the differential absorption lidar and Raman lidar measurements performed at the JPL Table Mountain Facility in California since 1989 and the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii since 1993, which provide vertical profiles of ozone, temperature, water vapor, and aerosols. His research contributes to the characterization and understanding of long-term atmospheric composition changes (e.g., stratospheric ozone depletion and recovery, changes in air quality, interaction between atmospheric composition and climate).
