DSCOVR Project Logo

The Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) is a partnership between NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the US Air Force. It is in a "Lissajous" orbit around the L-1 (Lagrange libration point #1), roughly one million miles away from Earth in direction of the Sun. It carries, in particular, NASA’s Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) that images the sunlit side of our planet roughly every hour. An EPIC/DSCOVR Science Team has been tasked to generate cloud, aerosol and land surface products from EPIC's 10 spectral channels and ~10 km pixels.
