Glory Project Logo

The bad news is that the Glory spacecraft failed to reach orbit after liftoff aboard a Taurus XL rocket on March 4, 2011, at 5:09 AM, EST, from Vandenberg Air Force Base in southern California. The good news is that NASA did not disband the Glory Science Team. Instead, it was tasked to work with any form of data that approximates what the Aerosol Polarimetric Sensor (APS) and Total Irradiance Monitor (TIM) would have collected.
