Maria Hakuba

Dr. Hakuba completed her Master's degree with a project on the orographic impact of Greenland's ice sheet on snow accumulation and atmospheric circulation. During her PhD, she moved her interests towards Earth's energy balance and the exploration of datasets from both surface and space. In particular, she studied the absorption of solar radiation by the atmosphere and the spatial representativeness of surface observations of solar radiation. Currently, she works on the hemispheric energy budgets and transport of heat involving ocean and satellite measurements. Moreover, she studies tropical large-scale circulation using various in-situ, modeling, and remote sensing datasets, including GPS radio occultation.
