Biography

Dr. Qing Yue has extensive experience on understanding the interactions of cloud, atmosphere, and radiation using multi-sensor satellite observations. Her research interest includes cloud radiative feedbacks by cloud regimes, satellite cloud remote sensing and uncertainty quantification of satellite data record, planetary boundary layer cloud and cirrus cloud and their relationships with the thermodynamic environment, and identifying and verifying climate processes and variability from observations and climate model simulations/assimilations.

  • Spectral and broadband radiative transfer of cloud and aerosols, and its applications in regional and climate models.
  • Remote sensing of clouds and atmosphere: retrieval and validation, multi-sensor satellite data fusion, in-situ and field campaign observations and analysis.
  • Cloud radiative feedback from observations and climate models.
  • Climate data record from multi-sensor satellite observations, reanalysis and model analysis data.
