Biography

Kazuyuki Miyazaki is a scientist who specializes in atmospheric composition research. His research activities range from the development of chemical data assimilation systems to the study of the impact of air quality on climate and human health. He produced decadal chemical reanalyses based on assimilation of multi-constituent satellite measurements (NASA GES DISC, JPL website). The global reanalysis concentration and emission data products provided unique information on decadal changes in the atmospheric environment that can be used for various research. He is a PI of several NASA projects, including the NASA Aura Science team, ACMAP, and Earth Science U.S. Participating Investigator programs, and the JPL Science Understanding from Data Science project. His current research includes observing system simulation experiments (OSSEs), evaluations of satellite data products and chemistry-climate models, and air quality and greenhouse gas emission analysis.
